TAN SRI DR.SULEIMAN MOHAMED
He received his Bachelor’s degree in communication science (publisistik) from Universiti Negeri Padjadjaran Bandung (UNPAD), Indonesia in 1972, with his thesis, “Suara Malaysia and Audience in Indonesia and also Doctorandus (Drs) in journalism from the same university two (2) years later, with a thesis” multiplicity of Newspaper in a Plural Society Malaysia.
While being Deputy Minister of Information, he pursue his study for five (5) tears at University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) to achieve his PhD in 1999 in Malay Studies. His dissertation was, “Social Transformation of Malay Urbanisation,” case study Kampung Bahru, Kuala Lumpur.
He is also a profile writer on social and political subjects especially on Malay Society. Most of his writing was published in journal, books published by University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Among his articles was, “Tanah asal Melayu dalam konteks pembangunan Ekonomi”, Pembangunan Kampung Bahru, Kuala Lumpur. “” Kebudayaan Melayu Di Ambang Abad Baru.” He wrote two books published by ATMA, UKM 1999, Social Transformation of Malay Urbanization (UKM 1999) and the History of Kampung Bahru (UKM 1999). Between July and August 2009 wrote seven political books published by UMNO state liaison of Federal Territory. Those books were his case studies in 2008 General Election for the Parliament of Titiwangsa, Batu, Segambut, Wangsamaju, Setiawangsa, Babdar Tun Razak, and Lembah Pantai.
22nd September 2012 he wrote book about his family, “Legasi Keluarga Mohamed-Nilam (disini awal segalanya bermula).
During the lockdown Mac 2020, he wrote Kuala Lumpur History on,” Diaspora Khatib Koyan- penghulu di Kuala Lumpur. This book received award Tokoh Buku Negara by the government 2021.
